Dear All

I trust everyone had a good summer break and that batteries are suitably recharged ready for our exciting new season.

At our first rehearsal on Monday 13th September Adrian plans to devote the first 15 minutes to Coriolan and then the remainder of the rehearsal to the Mahler - including the fourth movement to give the wind a break. This means we (section leaders) have a great opportunity to get as many 'extra' players to attend (if possible/available) so they can get an early feel for the Mahler rather than just showing up for the final Monday rehearsal at Ravensbourne on the 8th November. Adrian will, as always, provide me with a full rehearsal schedule in due course which I shall email to the members and post on the BSO website as usual.

Can I ask that we all endeavour to maintain our improved punctuality for the start of each Monday rehearsal this season. With the majority of Members arriving at our rehearsal venue early to get set-up, warmed-up and tuned-up enabling Adrian to downbeat at 19:30 precisely instead of 19:40-19:45 as we'd lapsed into a couple of years ago, we have added hours of extra valuable rehearsal time which is important when we often play such adventurous and tricky music.

Tea/coffee rota will be emailed out soon.
