Voting by members for future programmes typically happens in November and is announced at rehearsals and on the members’ mailing list.
Suggestions for candidate pieces may be submitted at any time. Please check below first to see if your suggestion is already on the list and check the repertoire page to make sure it has not been performed within the last 10 years. If you know the duration and required instrumentation please include that information.
Note that the members’ vote is just one source of suggestions used by the committee – we also consider the audience surveys, suggestions carried forward from previous years and of course our conductor’s opinion. We can’t guarantee that vote winners will be performed, but most of the pieces we select do originate here. Compositions are more likely to be chosen if they will attract a larger audience and if they make good use of our resources (full orchestra rather than chamber works).
